About this blog...

ようこそ日本庭園においでくださいました。• Yōkoso Nihon teien ni oide kudasai mashita • Welcome to the Japanese Garden!

You’ve come to an informal place where all lovers of the Seattle Japanese Garden can meet, exchange ideas, information and seasonal oohs and ahs. This blog is run by the SJG docents  - we invite everyone to visit, post or comment.

About the design of the title heading...

The header of this blog was lovingly designed by docent Nat. S, and features a photograph by aleks, luckily present for the heron and turtle meeting.  Docent Keiko P., who rounded out our informal, 3-person design committee, commented during our lengthy email discussions:

Aleks, if you are going with this design, please be sure to include the following comment of the artist in the "About This Blog" page - I think that this description helps us viewers appreciate it even more with the sense of not only togetherness but also the time and space:

' The 'green pond' in the lower left echoes the pine in the upper right of your foto, and it references how the pond can appear more green than in the foto.  I pulled in blue pond swirls to echo the blue of the inset and text...and to suggest movement...the swirls hint at the turtle having recently emerged from the pond onto the rock...to commune with the heron on the blog, no doubt.'
